Evidence hierarchy

1. Primary official documents and direct records
2. Regulatory or government filings
3. Company or institution statements, kept attributable
4. Court and other public records
5. High-quality wire and accountable news reporting
6. Specialist publications with transparent methods

Verification threshold

We seek at least two reliable sources for a new factual news report and prefer an official or primary record. A single company statement can establish what that company said, but not independently prove every claim inside it. Conflicts and uncertainty are stated rather than averaged away.

Source records

Our editorial workflow records the source URL, publisher, publication and retrieval timing when available, the rights basis, supported claims, corroboration and revision history. Sources must be approved before automated ingestion can run.

Copyright and ingestion

Nivegu is not a full-text republication engine. We write original summaries and synthesis, use only limited attributed quotations where appropriate, and link to the original. Commercial reporting is link-only unless a licence permits more. Public-domain, official and licensed material is still checked for attribution and reuse terms. We do not hotlink random copyrighted images or rehost documents when rights are unclear.

Social and anonymous claims

An unverified social post is never converted automatically into fact. Anonymous reporting is described with its limits and corroborated when possible. High-risk coverage involving health, safety, elections, war, crime or finance receives a stricter review.
